Over a 12 month period there are specific things that we do to raise funds so we can function and achieve the goals of the Madison Education Foundation. Here is a list of the major events or activities.
Every August, at the first in-service meeting of the staff of the Madison School District a member of the Board of the Foundation presents what is known as Jeans Day. The District Superintendent has authorized one day per month to be designated "MEF Jeans Day". To participate in Jeans Day you must make a $25 donation to the Foundation. Anyone who participates is issued a sticker that goes on their District ID. These funds are added to the Perpetual Grant Fund. This is renewed every year.
November is the time for Dancing with Rexburg Stars, a production of the Idaho Ballroom Academy. This event has become a tradition with 2018 marking the 9th show and proceeds of the show are now donated to the Madison Education Foundation and are earmarked for the Performing Arts Center and Performing Arts Programs. This dancing event is one that many look forward to every year because it features prominent members of the community dancing with a student or staff of the Idaho Ballroom Academy. If you haven't been, you should plan on the next show, always on the second weekend of November. Tickets are only $5 for individuals, and $20 for family tickets. Individual tickets get one vote in the competition and family passes get four votes.
Basketball season brings Rigby Varsity and JV teams to Madison High School, and as a fundraiser and means to get exposure, The Madison Education Foundation mans the concession booth at both of these games. This allows us to be seen in the community and raise a few dollars in the process.
